Analog drive & saturation
BC Drive
Two gain stages and a limiter, modeled on a legendary piece of mastering-grade hardware. Clean boost when you want it, harmonic saturation when you don't.
$49 is the regular price once the launch month ends. Introductory pricing applies for the first month after release.
Drive
Stage oneThe gain stage. Pushes level into the circuit and sets how hard everything downstream is working. On its own it is transparent - measured at −141.5 dB THD, it is a boost, not a colour.
Sat
Stage twoThe character stage, and a separate decision from Drive. Generates the full harmonic series that thickens low end and helps a track sit forward without simply being louder.
Lim
OutputThe limiter catching the output stage. Holds the ceiling while the two stages ahead of it are pushed, so extra drive turns into density rather than into peaks you have to fix later.
The lamps track what the plugin is doing as you play: In for signal present, Sat when the saturation stage is contributing, and Lim when the limiter is working.
Measurements:
Two stages means the colour is yours to choose rather than something applied on the way past. These are harmonic analyses of BC Drive at both extremes, on a 200 Hz tone.
